Dr. Spatafora attended Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in Whittier California, receiving a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1989. He received his California state license. After moving to Grand Junction, he was licensed to practice in Colorado in 1993.

Dr. Spatafora became a Registered Medical Examiner with the FMCSA in 2013.
